What is a List Server or an eGroup?
A system that distributes email to a group of people that are all members of the same eGroup (aka e-mailing list).
How does this work?
An eGroup member sends an email message to the list address.
The eGroup Server picks up the message and (if it's sent from a member) re-sends it to all the members of the eGroup. Our eGroup is normally low traffic, and we will never sell your email address to anyone. Ever.
In summary, everything sent (by a subscribed member) to "everybody@sbamug.com" will get sent to all members on the list. This is especially good for announcements, meeting reminders, questions, and group discussions of things that are relevant to our computer club. Please don't send private messages to the eGroup since everyone will get a copy.
You can Subscribe and Unsubscribe to the email list yourself by sending email to the list server addresses; as below.
HOW:
Clicking on a link below will command your email program to open with a pre addressed, ready to go email. Just send it without any changes to subscribe or unsubscribe. Expect a reply in 5 minutes or less. Usually much less. :-)

In order to subscribe, unsubscribe, and change their subscription mode via E-mail, members of the SBAMUG eGroup "everybody@SBAMUG.com" mailing list should send any message to the following addresses. Or you may click these links below & send the resulting email:

Q: So, really, what's the mailing list for?
A: Oh, mostly for Mac User Group announcements, meeting reminders,
fun Mac things to do, and to help keep us together as a group. We're
hoping that if you *know about* what's going on, that you'll
participate and have a good time.
Q: How do I change the email address that I get the eGroup mails?
A: Unsubscribe the old address, and Subscribe the new one. If you can't send mail from the old address; explain it to & he can help you.
Q: Will I get a bunch of junk mail?
A: No. We don't archive this eGroup. and you're not allowed to do so in a public place. But our members can say whatever, and we don't even try to control it. We do sort of try to stay on topic; that is on the topic of MAC stuff most of the time. We do promise not to sell your contact info.
Q: Does this run on a Macintosh?
A: Of course. That is one of the reasons we wanted to do it ourselves, instead of using the free services. Our Email & List server is CommuniGatePro software on a Mac G3/350 running Mac OSX. Our Mac webserver is running WebStar V software.
Q: Can anybody join?
A: Yes, and we also encourage you to support our
MUG with your membership dollars.
