The main presentation (at 8PM) will be  “iPhoneography – Going Beyond the Selfie” by Don Stouder
The term iPhoneography has been around for a few years now. It was meant to introduce the thought that the iPhone has gotten to the point that it can be used to take high quality creative photographs. Improvements to the camera, apps and available accessories introduced since then have reinforced this notion.
This presentation will explore the capabilities of the Camera and Photos apps plus 3rd party apps that expand on those provided by Apple. A few unique accessories for the iPhone that further expand its capabilities will be highlighted. Don is a lifelong amateur photographer with experience in a variety of photography formats. He teaches digital photography at the South Bay Adult School. You can get more information about him and see some of his photos at his WordPress blog: https://don26812.wordpress.com/

Joan King will do the main presentation (at 8PM) on: eBooks. She says: “When I got involved with the PocketBible Kickstarter project for the Mac OS, one of the features I opted for was the BookBuilder software. Since I frequently go on projects to build schools and churches and sometimes wind up giving worship talks, I thought it might be nice to be able to have electronic copies on my iPod. I have supply of talks going back over 20 years or so on my Mac, and currently take a folder of printouts.
The BookBuilder app was released in March, and I recently started playing with it. In the process I got looking into eBooks in general and came across iBooks Author. I wound up putting together a presentation for SBAMUG on creating eBooks. As part of my presentation, I will create and demo an iBooks book.”
An added attraction will be a short presentation by Tom Thorpe on Internet Basics (transport media, ethernet, packets, etc.) This will precede Joan’s talk.

The beginner’s Q & A will begin at 6:30 PM with Glen Terry and Jim Pernal answering your questions.
The main presentation (at 8PM) will be  “iOS Apps” by George Wilde.
My intent for the next presentation is to give SBAMUG members a taste of what can be done with iOS Apps by using examples from existing Apps (some developed by me and some developed by others). I then intend to demonstrate the development of a very simple SBAMUG App using Apple’s free Xcode tools which are used to develop nearly all iOS and Mac Apps, I won’t be demonstrating any actual coding, but will show how Xcode’s graphical Interface Builder tools can be used to develop a very simple App. My hope is to give SBAMUG members a feel of how real iOS (and Mac) Apps are developed without getting into too much technical detail or actual coding.
I will also talk about how to effectively use the iTunes App Store on various devices to select those Apps that are really of interest to you and meet your needs. There are so many Apps in the App store that finding the right ones can be very difficult. I will then give an overview of what can be done with iOS Apps, and a brief summary of how developers actually develop iOS Apps using a simple SBAMUG example (probably just an iOS App that displays the SBAMUG Website).

The main presentation (at 8PM) will be  “Password Playdate†by Allison Sheridan.
Do you hate passwords?  They’re too hard to remember, there are too darn many of them, they want them to be complex and all different but it’s impossible to keep track of them all!  Allison Sheridan, who has presented to us before, will show you how to conquer your passwords!  If you can make it to this presentation, you’ll leave with a clear path to how to make secure passwords, have quick and easy access to them, and be able to get to them from your Mac or iOS device.  She’ll even offer you choice on how to do this!  To accomplish this lofty goal, she will be demonstrating two password managers, 1Password and LastPass.
If you haven’t seen Allison present before, you’ll find her entertaining and informative, never boring!
